OVERVIEW
Hidden 60-km Southwest of Hanoi among lush paddy fields, limestone karsts and picturesque villages, the Perfume Pagoda is the perfect one-day trip from Hanoi for nature lovers. Enjoy a leisurely 3-hour sampan boat cruise through rice fields and ‘Halong Bay’ style rock formations before heading up to the Perfume Pagoda. The Perfume Pagoda is not just one pagoda but many shrines and temples built into a limestone hillside.
PROGRAM DETAIL
Drive to Perfume Pagoda. After 2hrs driving, you will arrive at Ben Duc boat harbor. Then you take one hour trip on a small boat-rowed by local people on the stream named Yen. You can deeply enjoy the attractive mountain views mirror-image in the crystal water mirror of the stream en route, along the way stop at Den Trinh (pagoda of representation).
Getting out of the boat, follow a stone flagged path to Thien Tru, ‘Pagoda Leading to Heaven’. This pagoda was built in the seventeenth century and dedicated to the goddess Quan Am, symbolically marking the start of the journey to ‘heaven’. Continue the walk uphill; it takes you about 1 hour to trek up to the main Pagoda – Cave on the top of the highest mountain in the range which is considered as the most beautiful Cave under South Asia sky! At the top you will be rewarded with a fine view and a picnic lunch. Taking photo & learn about Vietnam history, Buddhism religion then trekking down by the same. Then spending one more hour on the boat back to the harbor and drive back to Hanoi.
