Arriving and leaving both in Hanoi capital, this option leads you to almost the spectacular attractions of the North Vietnam, especially made for people who is keen of adventure and cultural tours, people who are interested in study on tribal life. You will experience off the beaten tracks sights, terrace paddies, mountainous roads, minority markets, etc. and go till the Northernmost of Vietnam.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Hanoi Arrival

Arrive in Hanoi around noon. Transfer to hotel. Free time. Evening enjoy water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2 Hanoi – Ha Long

Morning transfer to Halong (170 km) to board on a nice junk cruise to take a Ha Long Bay cruise over 2,000 islands that just out of the sea to provide a spectacular natural environment. Boarding the Junk, a welcome drink is served before sitting down to a sumptuous seafood lunch in the dining room. We cruise through the magnificent bay of Ha Long that’s declared a World Heritage Site in 1994. There is opportunity to explore some of the beautiful and awesome grottoes with our guide on board. In the evening, dinner will be served on boat, after which we can experiment with some night fishing, before settling into our comfortable cabins. Overnight on the magnificent Halong Bay.

Day 3 Ha Long – Ninh Binh

Enjoy our last morning on board to admire the spectacular view of the bay. Visit Luon cave on small bamboo boat, then cruise to pass so that tourists can have look Man’s head island, Tortoise island from the Junks. A brunch is served on board as we cruise slowly back to the harbor, where we will check out and transferred to Ninh Binh (200 km) to visit unspoiled villages, immense rice fields in the center of the Red River Delta. Afternoon we take a bicycle tour around the village to see local life activities. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

Day 4 Ninh Binh – Mai Chau

Morning we get on a small boat to row along the small canal in the rice field to visit Tam Coc Caves considered as “Halong Bay on land”. Visit Bich Dong Temple and relics of Hoa Lu ancient Kingdom (Dinh dynasty in the 10th century). After that we drive to Mai Chau (150km) – the land of the White Thai people. Enjoy our dinner with Can wine (precious wine of the local people) and special traditional music and dancing show by White Thai people. Overnight in Mai Chau.

Day 5 Mai Chau – Hoa Binh – Nghia Lo (or Mu Cang Chai)

Morning we have a short trek to visit Lat and Pomcoong villages and learn about the traditional life of the Thai people. Drive to Hoa Binh for lunch then we drive via Phu Tho to Nghia Lo, Yen Bai province (250 km). Overnight in Nghia Lo town.

Day 6 Nghia Lo – Mu Cang Chai – Sapa

Morning we drive on National Road no. 32 to Sa Pa via Mu Cang Chai and Than Uyen (250 km). The road is sometimes in bad conditions therefore we need to bring along our spirit of adventure, instead of that, the view along the road is very nice, with evergreen rice fields and terraces.  Until you reach Tram Ton pass, you will have an overwhelmed feeling of the victory. Visit Thac Bac – Silver Waterfall on the way. The weather is cooler and cooler until we go into misty town of Sapa, which was founded in early last century and rapidly became an ideal place for anyone seeking an enjoyable escape from the unbearable heat in plains. At an elevation of 1,500 meters, it has some warm days and cool evenings. We arrive in Sapa late afternoon. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 7 Sapa & Cat Cat

Morning visit Sapa corlorfull market. Then we climb up to Ham Rong Mountain to have an overlook on the misty city. And if you are lucky, you may see the Mt. Pansifan- the highest Mt. in Vietnam in the south of Sapa. In the afternoon we trek to Cat Cat village visit village of H’mong minority and Cat Cat Waterfall. Evening enjoy strolling around this lovely and peaceful town. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 8 Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van Homestay

Today we check out and we will walk from Sapa towards Muong Hoa valley where can admire magnificent landscape. We go along the local tracks to Lao Chai village, home of the Black H’Mong people. The footpath traverses some terraced rice fields, giving us a chance to see the local villagers doing their daily works such as logging, herding buffalo and tilling the field. Late afternoon we arrive at Ta Van village, located in the most beautiful valley of the area and visit the Zay ethnic minorities who are very friendly and welcoming. Anfetrnoon we trek to Ta Van Mong Village and Cau May (Rattan) Bridge. Overnight at Ta Van Homestay.

Day 9 Ta Van – Sapa – Coc Ly/Can Cau/Bac Ha – Ha Giang

Morning we drive via Lao Cai to Bac Ha to see one of the famous minority markets if you trip is on Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday. Then leave Bac Ha for Ha Giang via Pho Rang and Bac Quang (290 km). Arrive in Ha Giang, free time to explore the town. Overnight in Ha Giang.

Day 10 Ha Giang – Dong Van

Morning visit Me Village, nice homes of Tay minority peole located in the middle of green rice field near Ha Giang town. Then leave Ha Giang for Dong Van (150 km) via Quan Ba and Yen Minh. Different stops to admire the Celestial Door, the fairy Mounts. Overnight at Dong Van, the plateau of rock limestone of the Vietnam.

Day 11 Dong Van – Lung Cu – Meo Vac

Visit Meo King’s Royal Palace. Departure for Lung Cu, the Northernmost of Vietnam to admire the nice landscape. Back to Dong Van and drive to Meo Vac passing the Mount Ma Phi Leng over 2000 meters high. Free time and overnight in Meo Vac town.

Day 12 Meo Vac – Lung Phinh – Ba Be Lake

Morning drive to visit Lung Phinh minority market, the most famous one in the area, which is a vailable almost once per week at Tiger and Monkey days. After that drive via Bao Lac to Ba Be national park, the lake “of the three seas” that stretches itself on 9 km of long and on 100 to 1800 m of wide, is located to 145 m from sea level.  Drive through the rain forest to reach the lake side and a village of Tay hill tribe people in Pac Ngoi. Late afternoon walking around the village. Overnight at homestay of uncle Toan.

Day 13 Ba Be Lake

Morning boat trip on Ba Be lake to enjoy the breathtaking sights, visit fairy ponds, Dau Dang Waterfall, Nang River. Afternoon trekking to visit Ba Be National Park. Being the opening of 3 valleys that rejoin in circle arch, Ba Be is not only a site for the imaginative ones, but also for the nature lovers. Close to a forty of types of mammals there live, as well as more of about one hundred types of birds and many butterflies. Overnight at homestay of uncle Toan.

Day 14 Ba Be Lake - Hanoi

Morning you still have time to enjoy walking around the area. Drive back to Hanoi via Thai Nguyen. Visit Thai Nguyen Museum. Arrive in Hanoi in the afternoon. Free time for relax. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 15 Hanoi – Departure

Free time to relax before transfer to airport for flight back home. End of the tour.
