Arrival and departure are from Hanoi capital, our tour SN03 covers almost the striking sceneries of the North Vietnam, leads you the beautiful way from the plain to the mountainous region, especially Sapa, where you find hundreds of minority peoples living. You will feel the obvious differences between cultures, customs, weather, foods, etc between these regions, while enjoy the picturesque views of the area such as endless mountain, evergreen rice terrace, colorful minority market, etc.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Hanoi

Hà Nội 3Welcome at Noi Bai International Airport of Hanoi capital. Transfer to hotel in the downtown. Visit Sword Lake and Ngoc son Temple considered the heart of the city. Wellcome dinner with Vietnamese typical foods. Enjoy water puppet show – the Vietnamese famous traditional art in the evening. Night in Hanoi.

Day 2 Hanoi – City tour

Hà Nội 5The whole day we visit the peaceful capital decorated by tree lines along streets. Joint the stream of people to visit HoChiMinh Quarter includes Mausoleum (Closed on Monday and Friday of every week, and closed from 1.Oct to 05.Dec of every year), House-on-stilts where he lived and worked, Museum called by his name, One-pillar Pagoda. Visit Van Mieu (The Temple of Literature) – the first university of Vietnam. Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda and West Lake. View the Gothic style of Central Catholic Church and Hanoi Opera under shadow trees. The image of new and old buildings interposing with high shadow trees is a feature easiest to recognize in Hanoi and in many cities of Vietnam. Go round the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake on a cyclo like a Lord to view the most exciting part of Hanoi. Stay overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3 Ha Noi - Ha Long Bay

Hạ Long 36_2Morning transfer to Halong (170 km) to board on a nice junk cruise to take a Ha Long Bay cruise over 2,000 islands that just out of the sea to provide a spectacular natural environment. Boarding the Junk, a welcome drink is served before sitting down to a sumptuous seafood lunch in the dining room. We cruise through the magnificent bay of Ha Long that’s declared a World Heritage Site in 1994. There is opportunity to explore some of the beautiful and awesome grottoes with our guide on board. In the evening, dinner will be served on boat, after which we can experiment with some night fishing, before settling into our comfortable cabins. Stay overnight on the magnificent Halong bay.

Day 4 Ha Long Bay - Ninh Binh

Hạ Long 35Enjoy our last morning on board to admire the spectacular view of the bay. Visit Luon cave on small bamboo boat, then cruise to pass so that tourists can have look Man’s head island, Tortoise island from the Junks. A brunch is served on board as we cruise slowly back to the harbor, where we will check out and transferred to Ninh Binh town, 110 km to the south of Hanoi, to visit unspoiled villages and immense rice fields in the center of the Red river’s Delta – the biggest rice basket in the North Vietnam. The road goes through Hai Phong city and Thai Binh province . We pass a lot of picturesque sceneries when go through the town, city, rivers, rice fields… Dinner and night at Ninh Binh Town.

Day 5 NINH BINH – MAI CHAU (B/L/D)

Ninh Bình 4_2Morning we get on a small boat along the small canal in the rice field to visit Tam Coc Caves considered as “Halong Bay on land”. Visit a hand-embroider village in Tam Coc. Visit Bich Dong Temple and relics of Hoa Lu ancient Kingdom (Dinh dynasty in 10th century). Afternoon we drive to Mai Chau (130 km), home of the White Thai minority people in Hoa Binh province. Evening enjoy our dinner with Can wine (precious wine of the local people) and special performance of Ethnic dances in the evening. Overnight on House-on-stilts in the Lac village in Mai Chau.

Day 6 MAI CHAU - SON LA (B/L/D)

Mai Châu 7Morning we trek to visit villages of White Thai minority people and study on tribal life. Then we drive to Son La (180 km). The view along this road is perhaps most poetic landscape in Vietnam, with grassy fields, herds of water buffaloes, endless farms of plum and peach tree under the valleys of limestone mountain ranges. Upon arrival we visit Son La Prison and Museum. Overnight in Son La.

Day 7 SON LA – DIEN BIEN (B/L/D)

Dien Bien 1Morning we drive to Dien Bien (165 km). On the way visit a Black Thai minority village. Arrive in Dien Bien visit the far-west lovely town, getting in touch with people of the mountainous town in their honest smiles at the Central Market. Visit Dien Bien Phu museum, Victory Monument, A1 Hill, the vestiges of the war from French colony time. Overnight in Dien Bien.

Day 8 DIEN BIEN - SAPA (B/L/D)

Lai Châu 3Full day driving to Sapa (280 km) via Lai Chau, home of many minority people: black Thai, white Thai, red Dao, etc. The road is in good condition but it curves up and down the mountains of the Hoang Lien Son range. Then our tour today is really an adventure and discovery tour. Afternoon arrive Sa Pa at the most Northern point near the border with China. The weather is cooler and cooler until we go into misty town of Sapa. We visit Thac Bac (Silvery Waterfall) before getting to Sapa down town. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 9 SAPA – LAO CAI - HANOI (B/L/D)

sp2We pay a visit to the Central colourful market gathering all the minority people in the area nearby. Then we climb up to Ham Rong Mountain to have an overlook on the misty city. And if you are lucky, you may see the Mt. Pansifan- the highest Mt. in Vietnam in the south of Sapa. Enjoy fresh air which cools all year round in this lovely and peaceful town. After that we trekking to Cat Cat village visit village of H’mong minority and Cat Cat Waterfall. Next we trekking to visit Ta Van village of Flower H’mong and Dzay people, locates in the most beautiful valley of the area. Transfer to Lao Cai for a short rest at Thien Hai hotel before transfer to Lao Cai Railway Station for night train to Hanoi. Overnight on the train (air-conditioned cabin for 4 people)

Day 10 HANOI - DEPARTURE (B/-/-)

Arrive in Hanoi early morning. Shopping at the Old Quarter of city before transfer to Noi Bai international airport for departure.

NOTE:

* The prices are based on twin-sharing room, any person who wants to stay in single room must pay single room surcharge as indicated in the tariff (except for group 1 person, single room charge already included).

* In Vietnam now, it is difficult to book rooms at 5 star hotels in the big cities. So if we do not book rooms long time in advance – around 6 months in advance, hotels often request an extra charge from the normal price (contracted price) before confirm our room-booking.

    Welcome to Rome. After check-in, relax and unwind. Later meet with your Travel Director and fellow travellers. This evening consider a stroll around this fascinating ancient city and mingle with the locals in beautiful squares with stunning architecture. Travel to Europe often requires an overnight flight. Please arrange flights to arrive on or before Day 1.
