Phong Nha Caves are the complex of 14 grottoes situated in a region of Limestone Mountains in Ke Bang National Park. About 300 caves have been counted in this area so far. This proves the significance of this karsts cave system of which Phong Nha Cave, known as being among the longest and most beautiful karsts caves in the world, has been listed by UNESCO as a world natural heritage site.


Tour Itinerary

Day 1 HOI AN – HUE

Entrance of Citadel, HueAt 8:30 a.m., you will be greeted at the hotel in Hoi An by our driver and guide. Depart directly for Hue via the imposing Hai Van Mountain Pass, a part of Truong Son mountain range running down to the sea to cut in the high way. After lunch, we start to discover Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen’s Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945 including Flag Tower, Noon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace, and Forbidden Purple City. From here take a cyclo through ‘Old City’ to Tinh Tam Lake where the Emperors used to come to relax. Then you will board a boat for a cruise on the romantic Perfume River heading out for the countryside. Continue to visit Thien Mu (Celestial Lady) Pagoda which is considered the symbol of Hue, and of Buddhism in Vietnam. Enjoy Hue’s folk songs in the evening. Stay overnight in Hue.

Huế-40a-e1464147459772_2After breakfast, we go visit King Minh Mang’s Tomb and King Tu Duc’s Tomb, and head to the vibrant Dong Ba Riverside Market, a great place to catch a glimpse of everyday life. Then transfer to Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province. On the way, we stop over at La Vang Cathedral (which despite its years of turmoil remains an important pilgrimage site for Vietnam’s Catholics). Then have a short stop to see some of the most famous battle-field in Vietnam War – Ben Hai River, Hien Luong Bridge lying in the Demilitarized Zone of the Vietnam War. Stay overnight in Dong Hoi.

Phong-Nha-4Morning drive to Ke Bang National Park and the take a boat trip on the Son River from a critical point of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail to Phong Nha Cave. The boat will take you as far inside as Bi Ky Chamber where you will find traces of ancient inhabitants. After on boat for 700m, a large dry passage is appear, then you can walk to discover the cave for 500m more. You will have a chance to explore the remains of Cham Altars and Inscriptions inside. Return to Hue in the late afternoon (or transfer to airport for departure flight). End of the tour.
